Over 33 YEARS of Service to the Community Goolsby Mortuary was established in 1977 under the leadership of Thomas D. Goolsby Jr., a native of Atlanta and a graduate of Washington High School, Thomas was licensed as a funeral service provider in 1966, and vowed to offer professional, courteous service with affordable prices. Lillie Goolsby, the Lady Attendant, has served with her husband since 1977. She also is a native of Atlanta and a Clark College graduate. Mr. Goolsby brought his son, Michael Goolsby into the family business. Michael is also a native of Atlanta and a graduate of Clark College, The Atlanta University and Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service and a licensed funeral service provider. Marie Goolsby, Michael’s wife serves as the corporate secretary and media relations specialist. She is also a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service and a licensed funeral service provider. Marie is the current State Director of Education and Research for the Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association, Inc.
